Hello and welcome to the Storygrid podcast. This is a show dedicated to helping you become a better

0:05.7

writer. I'm your host Tim Graal and I am a struggling writer trying to figure out how to tell a

0:10.9

story that works. Joining me shortly is Sean Coyne. He is the creator of Story Grid, the author of

0:16.3

the book Story Grid and an editor with over 25 years experience. In this episode, as I continue to work towards

0:23.4

finishing off the draft of the threshing, we decided we would go back and look at some of the

0:29.9

basic ideas of story grid and especially just go through the book again. This is how we started

0:36.4

the podcast. We've tried to do it

0:38.5

here and there where we just go back and look at the basics. And it was funny, you know, I've been

1:11.7

episode and let's jump in and get started. So Sean, I've been continuing to work on my draft and

1:19.8

fixing it and it's been really fun. I'm probably about a third of the way through the middle

1:25.4

build now. So I'm making progress and it's been fun because

1:29.1

like this morning so I have a recurring alarm in the morning at 5 a.m. to wake me up and I always

1:36.8

snooze it until about 535 35 because I have to get the kids up at 6 I get up and make coffee and all

1:44.0

that and this morning,

1:45.1

it went off at five and my eyes popped open and I thought, ooh, I want to work on the book.

1:51.0

And so like I jumped out of bed at five and I got like an extra 35, 40 minutes to like I got through

1:57.1

a couple scenes and I had to re-wrote. It doesn't matter, but it's just, it's been
