It's that time of the year when I get to throw open my windows and pretend I'm actually

riding outside instead of in.

A few years ago I bought my first laptop ostensibly so I could take

my writing outside if I needed to. But somehow I just never bother. I don't like writing with

my laptop on my lap and the keyboard is particularly bad for my wrists.

Plus, it's more of a pain than not to collect the battery, all my papers and other odds and ends just to move outside.

Occasionally I'll take my hard copy editing outside but it just never seems to happen with my

writing. So I just enjoy the open windows for as long as I can

before it gets too hot. The secret ingredient of can't look away fictional relationships.
