Summary

You may be interested in my 3 part video series on what the original manuscripts of the Bible really say and how reliable our modern translations are. You can watch it here for only $29.99! Just kidding, all my stuff is free. Here it is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WclIZwBFhq0&list=PLZ3iRMLYFlHuzJhPtmrgqpVoXhjvqiIjWThis is just one question from a long interview I did for the moderators of the r/Bible subreddit. They asked their subreddit to send me a bunch of questions and I spent a lot of time preparing so that I would be able to offer the best answers I could. I'll be posting these answers as individual videos so keep an eye out for the rest in the set.

Well, shall we get into, so we have King King's version onlyists.

0:07.0

We have quite a bit of that in our subreddit.

Is this a question we prepared here?

0:12.0

So this is, we're going off script here for a second.

0:14.0

But does that fall back under the question we had about keeping the main thing,

0:34.0

NLT, NIV, and for those of us who are fine with that, how do we interact with those who say,

0:45.0

know what's King James' version only?

0:47.0

And it's not just because it was good enough for Jesus, but it's, you know, the arguments that are made

0:55.0

are very, they're very logical arguments about, you know, the manuscripts that were used for,

1:02.0

for the translation of the King James version.

1:05.0

They were the authentic ones, and yes, there's been older stuff discovered since then,

1:10.0

but those are corrupt in some ways.

1:12.0

I mean, what's the way for us, those of us who aren't bound to the King James version to deal with somebody who's,

1:18.0

who's hung up on it, so I don't want to say, I don't, that sounds kind of offensive,

1:22.0

but they're a proponent of King James version only, and everything else is just as bad.

1:28.0

I guess the first question I have is like, are they making it a major,

1:33.0

or is it just something they believe where they go, you know, you could tell they feel uncomfortable,

1:37.0

but they're still going to fellowship with you, they're not going to like interrupt your Bible study,

1:40.0

they're not going to walk out of your church, they're not going to fire you if you're on staff,

1:44.0

and you're like, you know, I walked into my fellowship one time carrying an ESV Bible,
