You've got these characters who just appear.

They all need to have a beautifully designed costume and weapon and things like that. Even if they just appear for a fleeting moment, the viewer's going to spot if it's not up to scratch. That's the challenge with working on these big TV shows.

left over. Today I'm joined by Tim Lewis, the master armorer on House of the Dragon, who's responsible

for making all the swords, shields, and other weapons on the series.

He also happens to be the master armorer

on the Lord of the Rings, the Rings of Power,

if that's something you care about.

This interview was conducted fairly early on

in the season for House of the Dragon,

so there aren't too many spoilers past episode three.

Some of the topics we discuss include

the making of the Valerian steel blades, like Blackfire,

Dark Sister, and Fasaurus's dagger. We talk about specific props like the spear presented

to Fisarius at the Royal Hunt by Jason Lannister, and also the hammer wielded by the crab

feeder at the stepstones. If you like to know how the
