Dr. Reinhold, what do you think has been the most significant impact of this last year on our

collective mental health? I would truly have to say the fear component of everything.

You know, I think it started with fear of shortage, you know, with

actual resources like the toilet paper shortage and, you know, all the paper goods

shortage. But I think it became now fear of the virus. So like it became health fears. It became

fear of what people think of me, fear of, you know, professional backlash, legal backlash. You know, I think

there's been, and obviously, I mean, you've reported on not just the pandemic, but there's been a lot

of really sensitive current events over the last year. And I think with all of those, it has just

brought a lot of pressure to collective social environment, you know, just even in conversation with

people. You know, I never would have had fear of even going to a party before this past year,

you know, like, so or fear of going out and how do I act with people? Is it okay to shake hands?

Is it not okay to hug somebody? Is it not okay to shake hands? Is it

okay to hug somebody? Is it not okay? Do I wear a mask to this function? Do I not wear a mask?

You know, there's about a thousand micro decisions that we're making that this pandemic is at it.

And I really think it's based in this really under current of fear. All of what you just said

resonates so deeply, which is why I wanted to have

this conversation. It's the little things that take so much mental energy that's just piling up.

And I woke up the other day and I thought, we have now been really in this state, however we want

to describe it for a year. And I did write down. It's not just the pandemic. You know,
