Scott Bland, your host, and this is another special debate show, our second of the week.

Thursday night was the second night of the two-night Democratic debates, ten candidates on the stage each

night in Miami, Florida, broadcast on the NBC channels and Telemoondo, and we're going to take

a key moment of tonight's debate and play it for you and then I'm going to be breaking it down with political reporter Chris Kadalago.

Chris, thank you so much for ducking into this quiet corner of the Politico Newsroom on a busy night to chat with us for a few minutes.

All right, let's get right to it.

Here's the moment that Kamala Harris confronted former Vice President Joe Biden on race right in the middle about

of the Democratic primary debate.

I do not believe you are a racist and I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground.

But I also believe, and it is personal, and it was actually very, it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States

senators who built their

reputations in this country and it was not only that but you also worked with them to oppose

busing.

And there was a little girl in California

who was part of the second class

to integrate her public schools.

And she was bused to school every day and that little girl was me.

So I will tell you that on this subject it cannot be an intellectual debate among Democrats.

We have to take it seriously.

We have to act swiftly.
