0:00.0	Amen. In the year 1886, an educated man, an author named Carl Böberg is on his way home across the Swedish hill country, and seemingly out of nowhere, a massive thunderstorm rolls in. The sky turns dark, lightning begins to rip from the earth into the heavens,
0:22.6	the thunder is shaking the ground underneath his feet, and he's caught in the middle of the storm
0:27.3	outside, and he's looking around, and he feels completely helpless. He feels completely overcome.
0:33.0	There's nowhere for him to go, and so he just has to stand in the middle of the storm and watch it raging all
0:38.2	around him. And then seemingly just as fast as the storm rolled in, it rolls out. And then a huge
0:44.9	rainbow fills the sky. And Carl Bauerberg heads home and he sits down at his desk and he begins
0:53.6	reflecting on this experience that he just
0:56.3	had and he pints the poem called O Stor Gud, which means O great God. And it is from this poem that
1:06.1	the church has gotten the song, How Great Thou Art, that we just sung, that has blessed the church
1:11.0	for more than a hundred years. Now, the interesting thing about Carl's encounter that day
1:16.5	is certainly the divine encounter that he had in the storm, but the interesting thing about it
1:21.1	is where Carl was coming from on his way home. You see, Carl had been at church, and Carl had been sitting under God's word and listening
1:30.3	and studying it.
1:31.3	He had been singing God's songs.
1:33.0	His heart was full of God's love because he had been gathered with God's people.
1:37.6	And so on his way home, he sees a storm, and in the middle of the storm, he sees God.
1:43.2	It's interesting to me, what if Carl was in a hurry
1:46.2	that day? What if he was busy? What if he had not been in God's house with God's people
1:50.7	studying God's word? Could he not have experienced that exact same storm as a burden? Could he have not
1:56.8	experienced that exact same storm as an interference with his life and him trying to get
2:01.0	where he was going, but instead, because his thoughts were centered on God and his heart was
2:05.7	filled with God's word, when he sees the storm, what he sees is the mighty hand of God at
