Every day we're going to dive into Rick's teachings, and today we're continuing the series called How God Meets Your Deepest Needs.

Now, in this series, Rick explores how the different Hebrew names of God that are found in the Bible actually illustrate the special ways that God cares for us.

His constant presence, his purpose for your life, and his preparation for a place for you in heaven.

Okay, and now here's Rick with the final part of a message called How God Heels Your Hidden Wounds.

Number four, you want to be healed from your hidden wounds? You have to then refocus on the future.

Refocus on the future. Get your attention off your past and on to God's plan for your future.

That's one of the things I love about the Celebrate Recovery Program here at Saddleback.

Because number one, it's based on the Bible. It's based on the eight beatitude steps that Jesus gave.

And number two, it has a conversion experience in it.

And number three, recovery happens in the context of other people, which God said you need others to help you go to get growing.

But number four, it is focused on the future.

It says, yeah, you blew it, but now let's do this.

Yeah, those people hurt you, but now let's get on with your life.

And it's forward thinking because you've got to refocus on the future.

Now there are three steps to refocusing on the future,

and they're all in Job chapter 11.

Let's read this out of the Good News translation.

Put your heart right, reach out to God,

then face the world again, firm courageous then all your troubles will fade from your memory like floods that are passed and remembered no more look at that

what a great verse says you want look what it says first it says put right. What does that mean? Give up your right to get even. Release those who have hurt you. Forgive them, whether they deserve it or not. You do the right thing, whether they did the right thing or not. You see, I don't feel like doing that. We'll do it anyway. Because it's the right thing to do and it's because it's the only way you're going to

get well.
