My name is Chad Davis.

I am the Vice President for Public Affairs at Cato.

By way of my background, I spent a number of years on the hill. A lot of it in the financial

sector bounced around to a couple agencies after that. But more relevant to the conversation

that we're going to have today on Cafe standards, I did spend a bit of time doing energy policy. And so while I'm not

as smart as my colleagues here, I'm going to help facilitate the conversation. Joining me today is

Peter Van Dorn, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and editor of Regulation Journal, as well as Brent

Gorup, who is a legal fellow here at the Cato Institute,

and I will turn it over to them to describe their roles a bit and give a little more information there.

Peter, do you want to start?

I've been in Cato almost 30 years now, and I edit regulation, which is sort of the scientific American

for microeconomics. We take academic articles and kind of make them more reader-friendly

about mostly microeconomic topics. And my own specialty is I do energy in the environment

and in my own research.

Great. Brent. And I'm on the legal studies team here at Cato. Primarily, we file amicus briefs in

federal court on various constitutional law issues and civil liberties issues. But I've been in Cato for about two years on that team,

but for 10 years I was at the Mercado Center
