Summary
Menopause is inescapable. From hot flashes to mood swings, every woman will eventually feel the effects of the change of life. But making changes to your diet and lifestyle can help make everything much more manageable.
Here's something to consider: Only about 10 percent of women in China and 20 percent of women in Japan experience hot flashes. But in the United States, an astounding 75 percent of women over the age of 50 will feel the heat! So why is that?!
Join "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll and doctors Neal Barnard, Rupali Chadha, and plant-based OBGYN Christie Cobb as they explore the link between diet and menopause in one of the most requested episodes ever of The Exam Room™.
Among the questions answered:
- What role do the hormones found in animal products play?
- Can menopause occur earlier depending on diet?
- How a high-fiber diet can help remove excess estrogen from the body.
Plus, Dr. Cobb answers a number of listener questions about weight gain, night sweats, and misinformation about carbohydrates and menopause!
And Dr. Chadha gives insight on countering the depression and anxiety that can accompany menopause.
