0:16.4	welcoming back to the podcast Dr Brian Miller to discuss how planet Earth is
0:20.9	specifically designed for human technology.
0:24.1	Dr Miller is a senior fellow of Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture,
0:28.7	where he serves as research coordinator.
0:31.3	He holds a BS in physics with a minor in engineering from MIT and a PhD in physics from Duke University.
0:38.0	He helps to manage the CSC's ID 3.0 research program, and he speaks internationally on the topics of
0:45.0	intelligent design and the impact of worldviews on society.

0:51.0	It's a pleasure to be here.
0:53.6	Well I'm excited about this topic because as you know I've been studying the history and
0:57.1	philosophy of technology for several years now.
1:00.1	It's a fascinating and timely subject to be sure.
1:02.8	Now the argument for intelligent design includes lines of evidence showing our planet is designed for life
1:08.8	as well as for scientific discoveries.
1:11.8	And to add to that, you have a talk you've developed explaining how Earth is designed for technological advancement.
1:19.0	Now first, can you give us an overview of this talk that you've been starting to give?
1:24.0	Yes, what happened is actually presented this talk for the first time at our Dallas
1:28.8	conference on faith and science and I was really happy with how it was received.
1:34.0	And what I did is I talked about three main points.
1:37.3	The first is I talked about how people often will address different design parameters in nature, things like the fine tuning of the laws of nature, things like the design of our earth.
