But what think ye? A certain man had two sons, and he came to the first and said,

0:06.8

Son, go work today in my vineyard. And he answered and said, I will not. But afterward he repented

0:13.4

and went. Hey, listeners, this is Nick from Scripture Central, and today's podcast addresses

0:20.0

the question. how does the

0:22.0

parable of the willing and unwilling sons teach about Christ?

0:30.0

The day after Jesus cleansed the temple, their chief priests and elders came to him and demanded

0:34.9

to know why he performed such an action, asking,

0:38.4

would then be able to discern his answer. Ultimately, this parable

1:28.9

embraces three elements of the plan of salvation. One, that the plan was set forth by the

1:33.9

Father in the Pre-Mortal Council in Heaven. Two, that Jesus was selected by the Father in the

1:39.5

Pre-Mortal Council in Heaven. And three, that the Father had conferred upon Jesus the all-important authority

1:46.2

to act in the Father's name, according to His will. This is especially evident when one examines

1:52.4

the underlying Greek text. When the Father approaches his first son, the King James Version

1:57.8

records the interaction thus. Son, go work today in my vineyard.
