Sometimes you touch something and you think it's going to feel one way and then it feels a totally different way. Like just last week, I touched a big wad of

gum stuck under my chair. I thought it was going to be soft and sticky, but it was all dried up and hard.

Ugh, would not recommend.

Anyway, one of my absolute favorite things to touch are screens, and not just any screens.

I'm talking about touch screens on cell phones and tablets.

You just give them a little tap,

and suddenly the screen lights up. They're like some kind of magic portal to another world. You can listen to music, play games, even read books. But how exactly does a touchscreen work? Like, how does it know what your finger is
