Great to be here with you in the House of the Lord. I'm Gary Wilkerson. I used to work here at this church.

They had enough of me and sent me out to Colorado where I could walk around in the mountains and ride horses and bicycles.

But always fun to be back here in New York and this lovely humid weather.

In Colorado, it's very dry. And so even when it's 90, you

just feels like, you know, there's a cool breeze blowing. I got off the plane last night,

around midnight, and walked outside and I went, it's hard to breathe around here. It's real

different. What a joy to see each and every one of you up there in the balcony. How you all

doing? Everybody's good. I want to talk to

ask you a question. That's kind of the theme of what I wanted to be talking about here with you

this afternoon. How do you know you're loved? Everybody in this room wants to be loved, right?

You may have felt love. Survey say about 60% of us when we're wants to be loved, right? You may have felt love.

Survey say about 60% of us when we were growing up, grew up in home where we felt secure

and loved. That leaves a lot of us in this room. Every row, about 10 or 12 people, there's

four or five in there that grew up in a family and a home where maybe there was a lack of attachment,

a lack of connection, a lack of intimacy.

Maybe your mom made your breakfast and sent you off to school and your clothes and warm and

a nice bed at night, but there was something missing.

And it left us sometimes in a situation of not knowing securely whether we're

loved. So I want to pray and then ask God to just, not just teach us information in our brain,

but to open up our heart to understand the great, great, glorious, powerful, wonderful

love that Jesus has for each and every one of us in this room.

Jesus, come right now, anoint my words, allow us to hear, let your spirit be in this room.
