I'm Cindy Yu and I'm joined by Katie Bors and James

Ossithe. So this morning in an upset for the Conservative Party, the Liberal Democrats took

0:43.5

Cheshem and Amisham in a by-election victory. Katie, can you talk us through what's happened?

So I think you've got what I think can be reasonably called a stunning victory for the Liberal

0:53.8

Democrats because what

1:45.8

So one of the examples you kept hearing was it's like the Whitney by-election.

1:49.5

And that's a by-election after David Cameron quit the Commons in his seat.

1:53.2

And you saw a rise in support for the Lib Dems, but the Tory candidate still had a majority of just over 5,000.

2:00.0

So your majority is reduced,
