Welcome to Curiously, Caitlin, where we take a kid question about God, theology, or the Bible, and find a scholar to answer it.

This week, we are tackling not a kid question, but a grown-up question about kids.

This show, you may have noticed, is sort of for kids, but it's mostly actually for grown-ups.

Our goal is that grown-ups in the church can learn about theology through the questions of

little kids. We hope this show is something that kids can listen to and learn a lot from, but our

goal is really that these scholars can answer these kid questions in a way that the average person in the pew

can understand. We also hope that this show helps people figure out how to talk to kids about God, that maybe some of the questions their kids ask or the kids in their Sunday school class ask that they don't know how to answer are partially because they just don't know the answers themselves.

Our goal is to take theology that's usually in textbooks or in seminars or classrooms and make it accessible

to people who learn in the church and teach in the church. So today we are bringing you a listener

question along those lines. Here it is. Caitlin, you addressed the Trinity early on with your show, but as a preschool teacher who is

teaching the Bible to mostly unchurched kids, I feel completely lost how to even begin

with the Trinity.

I grew up with the apple analogy, and while I knew that doesn't quite give the whole picture,

is it okay to start with that?

I've struggled teaching these kiddos because of my own

deconstruction process, and I've worked hard with my pastor to make sure that I'm not giving

them some of the harmful or malforming teaching I received. I love teaching these kids how much
