I want us to be thinking about how we measure progress and success, particularly for Black America.

What are the metrics of our success?

Because I think there are a lot of things that we think mean success that don't.

And I think it's time that we actually, I don't know if it's possible for us to all agree on some

metrics, but I think we do need some unity around. Here are some things that we should be

that means we're moving in the right direction.

That'll be an argument for history, I guess. But for me, for me personally, this movement very much started with the murder of Eric Garner and the murder of Michael Brown and the murder of John Crawford, which all happened in a span of about four weeks in the summer of 2014.
