Well, first up today, here's an email from one of our listeners named Marcus. He says, if there is no condemnation in Christ, as it says in Romans 8.1, why is there a real danger of still going to hell, as it says in Matthew 7, 21 to 23?

This concerns me and perplexes me.

Yeah.

Well, you know, first, let me just say, Matthew chapter 7 versus 21 and following, those are

verses that concern many believers.

And I think for good reason, in one sense, I mean, we want to take Jesus's words seriously

and hear the warnings that we find in scripture. Listen to what

he says there. Matthew chapter 7, verse 21, not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom

of heaven. But the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven. On that day, many will say to me,

Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and cast out demons in your name and do many

mighty works in your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you. Depart from me,

you workers of lawlessness.

This comes towards the end of Jesus' sermon on the Mount.

I've been preaching through the sermon on the Mount recently,

and one of the things that I'm seeing more and more

is how the Pharisees, the scribes and the Pharisees, are really in the crosshairs here.
