Hello, do you invest? If not, what puts you off?

Here's Lillian. She's put off by several things.

I've never really invested. I just don't feel it's the sort of thing that people like me do.

I'm an ordinary middle-class person. I think I'm a bit too scared of all of the risks. I'm very worried that the money

that I put into any investment will either shrink or completely disappear. I don't think I'm in the

position where I can afford to lose money that I will probably need in the future.

I have a young family, I have a mortgage, I work freelance, all of these things mean that I feel like I need to have my savings in a place that I know where they are and they're safe.

It feels very much like I'd be playing with it.

I'm not a skilled investment expert and I wouldn't really know where to start.

And that's why I feel that I would be just playing.
