Summary

Welcome to the Go + Tell Gals Podcast! In this “Gratitude” episode, we are talking to each of our GATG team members about what they’re thankful for and about gratitude practices they engage in. These questions include:

  • What does your gratitude practice look like?
  • What does it look like to practice your gratitude out loud?
  • What are you thankful for this year?

We are taking back November as a chance to move the Kingdom forward through proclaiming aloud where we see God at work in our lives and counting the fruit of the blessings. For us as kingdom women, this is more than just listing a few things that we are happy about, it’s a practice in spiritual warfare, proclaiming the victories found in Jesus.

Wanting to practice gratitude? Listen along for some ways our team members daily reflect on the goodness of God. Let’s slow down together and look out for the miracles of the Lord. Amen?

He is mighty in you.

Don’t miss:

Join us this month on social media using the hashtag #fightforthankful to share how God is moving in your life each day of November.

Hey friends, it's Jess. Listen, it is officially November. It is officially the month where here in the United States, we're getting ready for Thanksgiving,

0:21.6

and we are taking this opportunity to talk a lot about gratitude and what you're grateful for.

0:28.0

Before we dive in, I've got my team coming in to share a few things that they're thankful for

0:33.0

and even a little bit of the details of what their gratitude practice looks like. But first, I wanted

0:39.4

us to just dive into some big picture thoughts about thankfulness and gratitude and why it's

0:45.5

important. Here's the first thing. I love when all of culture is agreeing with something that is

0:52.7

actually a kingdom principle. And again, here in the United

0:57.1

States, we're about to hear a lot of people, at least on one day, hopefully, share what they're

1:02.0

thankful about. And the whole culture, everybody is agreeing like, okay, it's wise to be thankful.

1:09.8

But for us as kingdom women, there is so much more to this

1:13.7

than just listing a few things that we are happy about, right? Gratitude is spiritual warfare.

1:22.8

And I've actually started a little campaign on Instagram called Fight for Thankful. If you want to use that hashtag with me, you're welcome.

1:30.3

I'm posting one thing every day this month that I'm thankful for.

1:34.2

And the reason why I want to take the whole month to highlight this work in our lives

1:39.4

is because noticing what God is doing and using our mouths to proclaim it is absolutely one way

1:49.3

that we move the kingdom of heaven to earth, that we bring God's glory and we highlight it

1:56.4

and we magnify his goodness and his faithfulness in our lives. Gratitude is so much more than just a soft and

2:08.1

sweet act that we do, right? It's worship. It's spiritual warfare. It's how we combat the darkness.

2:17.2

It's how we combat defeat. It's how we combat the darkness. It's how we combat defeat. It's how we

2:21.1

counteract, discouragement, and it's how we push against this lie that God isn't worthy of being

2:28.7

trusted or that he's not up to good things in our lives. So a few questions that I think are helpful for us to

2:37.4

all think through is number one, when we are practicing gratitude, who is it that we're thinking?
