Hey, turning your Bibles to Matthew 9. We're going to be in verses 36 to 38 this morning.

This is Freedom Celebration weekend. Can you believe we are a week away from seeing thousands of people walk down the aisles of a concert venue that red hot chili peppers was playing at like last week saying yes to

Jesus church can you believe that we get to collectively do this every single year come on if you're

excited for what God's going to do next Saturday makes some noise this is an important weekend for

Calvary and we're going to talk about today how to change our city.

And I believe it's through events like freedom celebration, through sharing the gospel,

seeing people say yes to Jesus and go home to their spheres of influence as changed and

redeemed people, that that is the answer to how we change our city. So this weekend

isn't just a detour from the book of James. We're going to be back in James next week and then

through the month of July. This isn't just a little detour. This is central to our mission,

vision, and purpose as a church.

Through the years of freedom celebration,

we've seen over 10,000 people say yes to Jesus in our city and around the world.

And our purpose statement here at Calvary is so simple.

Creating life changed. That's it.

That's what we're all about. That's what we live and breathe and think about as a church is how we can be a part of God's mission of creating life change in this city. And so that's what

we're going to do this weekend. It's a big week for our church.

This week we get to show the people of this city how much God loves them.

And we get to serve them through Love Week for a collective 2,000 hours of community service

that we get to gift to our city.
