0:46.7	negotiations. No shock here really. But Joe, this isn't really the first time something like this has happened, right?

1:00.8	out the history of the late Jim Jeffords who switched parties in the Senate in 2001.
1:07.0	The Senate back then, in a lot of ways, very similar situation. It was the Bush tax cuts that were in play at the time in
1:16.9	2001 and Jeffords thought they were too deep and also wanted more funding for special education funding.
1:26.7	He wanted more funding for that and less deep Bush tax cuts.
1:31.5	And the party the Republican party kept pushing and pushing and
1:37.6	pushing and pushing and while they were pushing Harry Reed who had targeted three senators to work on in quiet talks,
1:47.1	Jeffords, Chafee, and none other than John McCain, he worked on all three of them quietly and ended up handing Jeffords the chair of the
1:56.6	Public Works Committee and gained Democratic control in a shocking moment that happened again like I said in 2001.
2:10.0	So when you look at what Manchin's talking about now or what he's, and he's the only one I think where this could be a risk.
