Because there is a new book out that I am so into.

It's called Living in a Daisy Age, the music, culture, and world De La Soul made.

And I've got the author of it right here.

His name is Professor Austin McCoy.

He's an assistant prof of U.S. and African American history at West Virginia University.

In addition to hip-hop culture, Austin McCoy's research also focuses on labor, social movements,

and political activism.

His writings about politics and culture have appeared in The Washington Post, CNN, The Baffler.

So excited to speak to him.
