listeners what NOLRAD is? NorAD is the North American Aerospace Defense Command and it's

based out in Colorado Springs, the Peterson Air Force Base, it's a joint command

with the Canadians.

Started in the 50s, designed to protect the United States

and Canada from attack at the time in the 50s

at the height of the Cold War,

that was from the fear about Soviet bombers coming over the North Pole
