1:21.2 | important for our cultures. Carbon dioxide has been increasing since the start of the Industrial Revolution, increasing |
1:29.9 | from about 280 parts per million to over 410 today, and it continues to increase. |
1:37.1 | The carbon that plants need to grow comes from this carbon dioxide. |
1:41.5 | They bring it into the plant, they break it apart, into the carbon itself, |
1:46.1 | and they use that to grow. |
1:48.6 | They also need nutrients from the soil. |
1:52.4 | And so, yes, carbon dioxide is plant food. |
1:56.8 | And this should be good news of rising carbon dioxide concentrations |
