Hello and welcome back to the Half-size-me show as always.

I am your host Heather.

I have battled my weight my entire life.

I had my first binge episode at the age of eight.

I went on various diets actually managed to lose 80 pounds in high school.

I was super excited because I finally got down to a normal quote-unquote weight for me.

And then proceeded to gain back all that 80 pounds in college plus an extra 90.

And I was hitting my all-time highest weight back in about 2006 when I was getting pregnant

with my first son.

And I just remember saying to myself, whatever I do this time to lose the weight after

decades of yo-yo dieting, trying the cabbage soup diet, trying weight watchers, atkins,

South Beach, all the different diets I had ever done, whatever I did this time had to

be permanent.

I did to be a long-term solution because I didn't want to do it again.

I didn't want to lose all the weight regain it.

I didn't want to gain back 90 pounds I hadn't previously had.

My odds were not good that I was going to keep the weight off if I did things that were

not sustainable.

That pivot in my thinking, changing my focus from being drastic weight loss as quick as

possible, get to the goal, hurry it up, make it happen, mark the weeks off on the calendar
