fed up and seeking for more balance in their lives. So to rectify this, over the last few

years we saw the rise of sustainable and mission-driven

brands. These were companies that started with a very simple model of

you buy a pair of shoes, we'll donate a pair of shoes. Then it became

we'll be conscious companies,

we'll recycle our waste,

and most recently we'll use carbon offsets.

Well, that's all well-intentioned, and it truly is, but sustainability has become more marketing than action, it seems.

It hasn't really moved the needle on what is the core purpose of business and the core model of business.
