The now-year-long saga of catastrophic failures in Boeing planes has weakened an icon of American industry, one of the country's largest exporters and one of the two major commercial

jet makers worldwide. That has led to widespread ructions for airlines and a possible rethink

of industrial policy,

especially as European rival Airbus rises to become the world leader in planes.

This week, I'm joined by columnists Oliver Tashlitch and Robert Ceyron,
