And as you find you way to your seats, if you have a Bible, we're going to be in 2nd Kings,

chapter 2. If you're new to the church, we're in a series of messages, a season where we're looking

at different times in the Bible where there are rivers, river stories, rivers mentioned, the symbolism

of rivers. We've called it the river wild and we are believing that like a river that twists and

turns and moves and hydrates and nourishes and has rapids and mystery and beauty and uncertainty

that there is a corresponding element of just wildness to this grand adventure that is following

Jesus. Come on, has your faith been stirred up? Have you been invigorated?

And we're finding ourselves in 2nd Kings, chapter 2 for one of the stories and scripture out

of many that have to do with the Jordan River, the Jordan River. Here's what we find. We've already

spent some time there with Joshua but we're back again with Elijah and Elijah where it says in

2nd Kings 2 and it came to pass when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind.

So that's just like setting things up like a preview of coming attractions. So the author's like,

this is such an incredible chapter. I need you to like be braced for it. So before we get to it,

like just so you know in this chapter someone goes to heaven in a whirlwind.

Then Elijah on that day said to Elijah, stay here please for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.

But Elijah said, as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down

to Bethel. Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elijah and said to him,

do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today? And he said, yes I know,

keep silent. Then Elijah said to him, Elijah, stay here please for the Lord has sent me on to

Jericho. But he said, as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.

So they came to Jericho. Now the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elijah and

said to him, do you know that your master will be taken away from you today? The Lord's going to
