0:06.4

collaboration, addition with my main man, Media Mogul, and NBA star Matt Barnes. What's up, Matt?

0:13.2

Rich, what up, man? I'm excited for this. Me too. Definitely. It was about time we came together

0:18.6

to do something. Yes. I think this is like a good representation of the conversations we have throughout the year

0:25.4

when we talk about kind of the state of both of our businesses, the state of media, sports

0:30.5

media.

0:31.0

So I'm excited to do this for a special All the Smoke Boardroom.

0:35.4

You know, I've always been fascinated by watching your growth the last

0:39.6

four or five years. I think a lot of times when an athlete has a show, there might be this

0:45.6

kind of like naive thought that it's just turnkey, right? That someone came and gave them a check

0:51.5

or gave them an audience. But in reality, we see now how many shows there are on a daily basis, right?

1:07.4

And also one thing that's not spoken about enough, being really, really good at what you do.

1:12.5

Going back to when you started this, because now is probably six, seven years ago,

1:17.8

how did this whole, all the smoke vision come about?

1:21.4

How did you and Steve connect?

1:24.1

And what was the early vision for what you guys wanted to bring to life?

1:28.0

You know, I retired in 17 after winning with the Warriors and was excited about what was

1:35.5

next. I didn't know what next was, but I was excited about it. My initial thing, you know,

1:42.1

as we were talking off camera about kind of where cannabis is in the game, my initial thought was when I retired was to kind of be a shield for the current guys because I knew the NBA drug program was some BS. Half the league was in it from rookies to superstars. And I just really wanted to be an advocate for those guys. So, you know, I'm flying back and forth myself. Al Harrington was doing it too,

2:01.1

meeting with the NBA, the NBPA, and kind of just, you know, opening their eyes and having conversations about, you know, them studying this plan and figuring out the benefits from it. And so fast forward that, you know, a friend of mine is just like, you know, you're always so well-spoken in your interviews, you should try media.
