0:00.0	Well, I am delighted once again to be joined with my dear brothers and good friends, Metropolitan and Dr. Nathan Jacobs.
0:33.6	As we talk about some of the most significant issues,
0:38.9	of faith and practice.
0:42.8	And I do want to spend some time in this particular segment talking not just about doctrine,
0:50.7	but the application of that doctrine.
1:00.3	There is a palpable crisis in Western civilization.
1:09.9	And oftentimes people look at pagans and say, pagans are the problem.
1:14.0	I want to get your opinion on that.
1:18.7	It seems to me that pagans are always going to exercise their job description.
1:20.0	What else would they do?
1:21.4	They're going to be pagans.
1:33.4	The question I think that's pressing is whether Christians are exercising their job description to be salt and light in a lost and searching world.
1:40.9	Jesus said, you are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?
1:44.4	It's no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
1:51.5	You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men take a lamp and put it under a bushel. Instead, they put it on its stand gives light to everyone in the house.
1:58.7	And so Christ is asking us to let our light so shine before men that they may see
2:05.1	our good deeds and praise our Father who is in heaven. So I'm positing here, Nathan, that the
2:12.8	systemic problem isn't pagans. It is Christians who have abdicated the responsibility to be salt and light.
2:25.0	And so we've seen the demise, and we are watching in real time, the demise of Western civilization.
2:35.7	And I remember many, many times I'd come back from speaking and teaching in China or various
2:44.5	places in Asia.
2:45.8	And I'd come back and I'd be all excited.
