Anthropic has a front row seat to AI economic change. From American Public Media,

this is Marketplace Tech. I'm Megan McCarty Carrino.

Economists usually have to wait for years of data to figure out how a new technology is affecting the economy.

0:27.8

But Anthropic, the AI company behind Claude, is kind of watching in real time.

0:33.5

Using anonymized data, the company's been tracking who is using its AI tools, how people are

0:39.5

using them, and even when people turn to Claude for certain tasks. They break it all down in a

1:42.2

Another way that you can see this is that the average cost in

1:48.0

terms of associated wage of the occupation of the task that Claude is doing has actually declined

1:53.5

since we first started tracking this a year and a half ago. What this means is that people are

1:59.4

using Claude not just for very technical

2:01.4

tasks, but using Claude to help you decide what to watch in the evening, using it for
