There is only two games this weekend, gentlemen, where both teams are ranked number 7

Stanford is visiting number 20 Oregon and number 1

Alabama is hosting number 22 Texas A&M that That game, the Crimson Tide, are favored by four touchdowns or so.

So, this is a brutal weekend of game.

We deserve better as fans waited all year for this and

this is kind of where we're at in late September. Maybe one interesting game.

Graham Couch, the columnist at the Lansing State Journal, had what I thought was an interesting piece this week,

pushing for an 18 playoff in part by arguing that this would allow the sport to quote get its September's back by not

eliminating or discouraging so many teams or even entire conferences.

Note he's in the middle of the big 10, so early, I quote, an 18

playoffs saves us from ourselves. It allows for the conversations we're

having about our teams to come without such a heavy dose of angst and friction.

If every major conference champion had a spot reserved, we could yell all day about Wisconsin or Michigan being in trouble this season,

but if either wound up winning the Big Ten, they'd have a place at the table.

The regular season would mean more because conference championships would mean everything.

It would let teams develop as teams often do.
