I remember seeing my first patient with HIV when I was in medical school.

A young man who had contracted the virus congenitally, meaning he lived with it his entire life.

and throat.

One of the attending physicians with whom I was working was in his 60s.

He trained at this hospital and he told me he hadn't seen a case this bad since the early
