You know, you're going to end up dead or in prison for the rest of your life. What's up, you guys? Today's guest is Chad Marks. He is a man from Rochester, New York. He is a white guy that got convicted for running a crack ring. You don't hear that every day. When he was 19 years old, he got caught up in a

RICO charge, sentenced to 40 years in prison. I was devastated the day I got sentenced. There were times where I thought, man, I hope someone does get me because I ain't got the balls to do it myself. I don't want to live this life. And while he was down, he became a jailhouse lawyer and a good one. he started winning appeals for other inmates.

write this reply for me. His jailhouse lawyer ends up in the hole. I think he gives me $30 in

commissary. I do his stuff. I win his case. And pretty soon, that was his entire hustle in prison.

He was making a good living, helping inmates either get their sentences reduced or get the cases dropped altogether.

How many cases do you have at a time in there?

Sometimes you may have four or five cases at a time.

He finally got out on a compassionate release in 2020. He came home and now he has a thriving

paralegal business where he literally helps thousands and thousands of inmates get their sentences

reduced and get out on compassionate release the same way that he got out. I work with attorneys all

over, right? Helping them understand, you know, some of the law stuff, some of, you know, the stuff that's been going on with prison.

He's here today to tell us about his life transformation and some of these cases and the way that he's contributed to federal prison reform.

In the beginning, it was not supposed to be punishment.

It was supposed to be rehabilitation.
