Welcome back. Today I have the pleasure of speaking with Joshua Burm. He is a former award-winning adult film actor who turned his life around after finding faith in God.

Today he is a husband, father of three boys, a pastor and an author who shares his story with the world. Welcome Joshua.

So glad to be here.

Not a story that you hear every day from cornstarch to pastor.

Yeah.

And I bet that it comes with a lot of questions whenever you tell your story. And I guess I just want to start with the beginning.

Before we even talk about what the porn industry is, I want to talk about how you got into it.

Yeah, so I started modeling when I was 14 or 15. Started pursuing that. Had some success.

Went to college, studied theater. And it made sense to me if I put myself in closer proximity to the jobs that I wanted to get.

So I moved to Hollywood.

Where were you from originally?

South Carolina.

South Carolina.

Yes, a really small town in South Carolina.

But I moved out there and I was doing okay. But like most people, I had to get another job to make ends meet.

And I was working at a restaurant in West Hollywood. And some girls walked in and they're like, hey, are you interested in acting?

And I was like, yes, absolutely. I'm an actor. That's what I want to do. And they're like, no, we're talking about pornography.

And I was like, I didn't expect that. And they asked if I wanted to meet with their agent.

And I met with our agent. And just the whole thing seemed so weird. And I was, you know, back and forth between being curious and being, you know, I know this is a bad idea.

But I can, I continue to give into my curiosity. So I ended up having a conversation with that agent and that decision to say yes to him turn into a six year career where I did over a thousand films.

I have to imagine though, if I'm a guy and I'm a young guy, hold me.

22. 22 years old, you know, and that's the, that's the college time for guys, you know, and they're partying and hooking up with girls and someone's like, hey, do you want to hook up with girls for a living?
