Over the past four weeks, the Biden administration and the U.S. media have sought to give credence to a conspiracy theory first advanced by Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo that the COVID-19 virus first started in a leak from a lab in Wuhan, China.

KJ, to get started, President Biden has told the intelligence agencies that they have 90 days

to intensify their efforts and determine whether or not COVID-19 came from a lab in Wuhan, China,

and report back to him in August.

We're going to discuss today where the conspiracy theories against China have originated.

There's different versions of them.

But just before we begin and sort of

go through this longer discussion, maybe it's important to start with how you think this will end.

I mean, the intelligence agencies could come back and say, nope, for sure, it didn't come from a Wuhan lab league.

China didn't do it. All of the allegations against China are not verifiable and in fact wrong. That's not likely. What's more likely is that

they'll either blame China or say we can't prove that China didn't do it and China wasn't open and transparent.
