Hey guys, it's Pablo here. As I'm sure you know, today marks the 20th anniversary of one of the darkest

days and not just New York's history where I'm from, but American history. And it made us think of an

episode we first brought to you back in January, because this is the story of new Jets head coach Robert Zala, whose debut tomorrow

will officially mark the first time a Muslim head coach has taken the sidelines in the history

of the NFL. And it's the culmination of a journey that actually began on September 11th, 2001,

when the life of Robert Sala, like the lives of so many of us, changed forever.

You know, 9-11, obviously it impacted, I think everyone somehow some ways.

Going through my brother's experience and the tragedy that he experienced,

being able to self-reflect on what I was doing at that moment

and realizing that I had a passion for football

really triggered this whole thing.

Now to be here as part of the New York Jets

and knowing that our first game is a day after the 20th anniversary. I mean, it's,

I'm supposed to be here, and I believe that.

That's the new Jets head coach, Robert Sala, speaking to the New York media for the first time.

The former 49ers defensive coordinator has been a hot coaching candidate for several years now.

But his journey to New York in specific is as unusual as it is groundbreaking.

Today, ESPN Jets reporter Rich Simeini tells us how September 11, 2001, changed Robert Sala's life forever

and set him on a course to become the first Muslim head coach in NFL history.
