It's Thursday, the 10th of October, two years and 234 days since the full-scale invasion began.

And today, darling in from Germany, I'm joined by our Berlin correspondent James Rothwell, and later,

from the US, John J Sullivan, US Ambassador to Moscow from 2020 to 2022 and previously the Deputy Secretary of State.

First however, a summary of military developments in the past 24 hours.

Fights are taking place at every building. The situation is unstable.

Words there of a Ukrainian military spokesperson describing intense fighting continuing

in Terezk in Danetsk, where outmaned Ukrainian forces are reportedly fending off Russian troops

inside that key strategic city. That's also been

confirmed by Reuters and others. There is word of street fighting and

Moscow's forces completely erasing certain buildings and structures, something that would tally with Russian doctrine thus far,

where if a territory can't be easily secured, it is simply destroyed.
