And most of us can't help but have an extremely

positive association due to it being Brienne's home mixed in with that lack of detail.

It says at least a few good things about TARTH, given it brought us a person with her extraordinary

character, and she's not a random product of an environment

that doesn't fit that.

No, Tarth very much supports the outcome of Brieann's personality, even though she's an

exception.

Deeper digging reveals more.

Tarth is a bit of a world apart, not a part like, say, the Summer Islands is from Westeros or even the Iron

Isles where so many things are very different. I mean, a place that's clearly similar in some

ways to mainland Westeros, it doesn't have a different religion. It is quite steeped in the

seven. Nevertheless, like so many islands, it is different. It's not the biggest island in Westeros, but it's up there,

so it's sort of a self-contained world. It doesn't rely as much on the outside world and

doesn't traffic as much with the outside world. Using our prior examples, the Summer Isles and

Ironborn are fairly insular cultures, but they are world travelers. They trade in

Rome all over, one sort of out of necessity and the other out of maybe curiosity and ambition.

Tarth is not like that. I wouldn't call it a bubble, but people don't feel the need to leave,

so it has more of that feel to it, more of that vibe,

I think.

Tarth produces neither explorers nor pirates, once again, compare to the summer and Iron

Isles.
