Driftmark. Hello and welcome to Radio Westeros, I'm Yoke Boy and it's great to be here to talk about

the seventh episode of House of the Dragon called Driftmark. Today we'll be reacting to and evaluating this episode as well as making plenty of book comparisons because we are fans of the books.

We will avoid spoiling the future plot of House of the Dragon, but we will have a spoiler section at the end

and we'll give you a giant heads up for that. So whatever your song of ice and fire,

game of thrones background, Game of Thrones background.

We've got a lot to offer tonight.

In this episode, there was not much of a time jump

from last time.

We're talking weeks, not months or years.

We began with a funeral and ended with a wedding. Things are unfolding pretty

quickly these days on House of the Dragon. Last week we had a close look at a new generation of

characters who will inherit some of the political problems

being created by their parents and elders. This week we got to see how the fault lines of these

conflicts are manifesting in the behaviors of those children.

Clearly tensions are mounting week after week and here the gloves came off and their rivalry

between the two factions began to spill over into open violence.

The writers succeeded in conveying this escalating tension while simultaneously maneuvering

characters into position to solidify the factions and pave the way for

further conflict. The key maneuver in this regard was Damon marrying his niece Renira

to form a Targarian power couple that will surely be a force to be reckoned with.

But that wasn't the only power move in the episode, given Aaman's desire to bond with the most formidable weapon in Westeros.
