Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of NerdSoup, I am Bo Oliver, join

0:18.5

you today with Aaron the NerdSoup Monkey and we are back to review House of the Dragon

0:22.3

Episode 7 Driftmark.

0:28.3

Apologies for my voice, I am a little under the weather but this episode was like a nice

0:32.6

bowl of chicken noodle soup made me feel better for an hour and then I felt bad again but

0:36.9

I feel good now because we are talking about it and I love talking about this show.

0:41.7

Very tense episode, probably the most tense of the season and I think once again those

0:46.8

first five episodes really did a great job developing Renera and Allison so now seeing

0:51.6

them in this older age defending their children there's so much bad blood and so I think

0:55.8

that really contributes to a moment like this even though we haven't spent too much

0:59.8

time with the kids it's similar to Game of Thrones Episode 2 right you have that initial

1:05.0

spat between Sansa and Arya and Joffrey but because of the development they did between

1:10.2

Ned and Robert you feel so much tension between both sides the development between Renera

1:16.0

and Allison there's been so much history between them up until this point and even though

1:19.8

it's sort of teeters on a reality TV show at times I still think it was very effective.

1:24.3

I think everything leading up to that big moment was just done so well like the atmosphere

1:30.1

of the whole funeral scene I thought was pretty incredible yeah we know the history between

1:35.0

a lot of these characters and just how the awkwardness the silence and it wasn't something

1:40.0

where I mean obviously that there for a funeral somebody that people cared about and obviously

1:44.2

going to be sad but there was just something else looming over that all those interactions

1:48.6

and you can see some of the sides start to take shape between the greens and the black

1:53.2

so yeah it just it was just a sense that something bad was definitely gonna happen sooner
