In 1969, 28-year-old Fred West met 15-year-old Rosemary Letts at a Cheltenham bus stop in Gloucestershire, England.

Fred fixated on Rose as they waited at the bus stop. He walked with a limp, wore filthy clothes, and had striking blue eyes.

She had silky brown hair, brown eyes, and thought he was a homeless man.

Fred asked Rose out on a date three times during this encounter.

He pointed out that they were both headed in the same direction

and then followed her onto the bus where he continued to talk to her.

He charmed her with exaggerated stories about his life.

She laughed.

They fell in love and got married in 1972 at the Gloucester

Register Office.

Sounds just like any other story about young love, doesn't it?

Fred and Rose West, however, were partners in life

and literal partners in life and and crime.

They had a malicious marriage filled with torture,

sexual assault, and murder.

Fred murdered about 12 people from 1967 until 1987 and Rose killed 10 people from 1973

until 1987.
