• On Thursday, several Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whistleblowers testified before a House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The hearing addressed alleged abuses of power by leadership within the FBI. In his opening statement, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) warned the FBI whistleblowers that following their testimony before Congress they would likely be improperly targeted by elements of the federal government—citing Matt Taibbi as an example of what could happen. Four days after testifying before Congress, Internal Revenue Service officers alarmingly showed up to the home of independent journalist Matt Taibbi.
• During Thursday’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Rep. Chris Stewart applauded the FBI whistleblowers for their bravery and condemned the bureau’s leadership for being overtly politicized.
• While testifying before a House Select Committee, former FBI agent turned whistleblower Steve Friend stated that the bureau retaliated against him after he questioned statistics being used to determine that domestic extremism was a dire threat.
• Robert Bork Jr.—President of the Antitrust Education Project & head of the Bork Group, a public affairs agency—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the left’s recent attacks on Justice Clarence Thomas and, subsequently, the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. Bork notes that while progressives have spent considerable effort and time unjustly questioning Justice Thomas’ “morals”, Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor refused to recuse themselves from cases involving organizations they were affiliated with, like Harvard University and Penguin Random House books.
