reliving the infighting and chaos that began this current 118th Congress

when you may recall a few magga hardliners forced Kevin McCarthy

through 15 rounds of voting just to become speaker. A very divisive start that

weaken McCarthy and put him on a path to the shortest modern speakership when Magaardliner

Matt Gates forced a vote to later oust McCarthy using the rules and the

strength of a hand that a handful of those members had built up against

the larger wing the larger majority of the Republican House conference.

It took many more days to get a replacement.

Republicans finally chose Mike Johnson and now

we're about seven months out until the election, five months into his short

speakership, and it is groundhog day for many Republicans.

They're doing it again.

We don't know where it'll go and how it'll end, but we are seeing even in this short time more

public threats against the speaker, infighting which shows the nation

that this is a party constantly warring with itself and in this sequel to this

repetitive theme the role of speaker McCarthy this time will be

will be played by the speaker who replaced him.

Mike Johnson naturally.

The role of hardliner willing to alienate most of Congress previously played by Matt Gates will now be played by

MTG for a reboot and few Republicans wanted this spring.
