Now, here are your hosts, Michael Bumpus and Stacey Ross.

What's giving you the most confidence in the Mariners this season,

0:20.3

and I mean confidence that they can improve on last year.

0:23.5

Bump, we spoke with David Schoenfield earlier in the show and asked him that same question

0:28.1

because we had already kind of been chatting about it a little bit.

0:31.1

This is what he said.

0:32.2

I think there's two keys there.

0:33.6

One, the starting rotation, which was fantastic in 2024.

0:37.3

And had some injury issues

0:39.4

last year. And, you know, some guys hadn't pitched as well as they had previously in their

0:44.8

career, Bryce Miller, great in the playoffs, but 568 ERA. George Kirby had some injury issues,

0:50.8

1:16.9

Same thing, that rotation.

1:19.4

The additions that have been made with Donovan, Julio getting older and more mature.

1:25.5

I don't have the numbers in front of me. But at least the feeling that I got watching him was that he wasn't chasing as much as he used to. And I think that's going to be crucial. I think the profile of Cal Raleigh, like that does something to a team when you have a guy like Cal Raleigh, it boosts everyone's confidence. You feel like you got some dogs in the fight. The streakiness of Randy Roseraino, right? He's going to kay a bunch, but when he's hot, he's going to be hot. He's going to be entertaining. Robles hardly played last year before when he was here. There was a stretch where he was the hottest player in the big. So there are everyone on this site, at least one through five, one through six, everyone's had their moments. You're waiting on Donovan Acclimated. He's probably going to be one.
