Heward, not exactly Joe Katz there in the pocket.

Now here are your hosts, Brock Heward and Mike Salk.

We tend in sports radio to talk about the same people over and over again.

I'm as guilty of it as anybody, and I'm not sorry for it.

It's what sells in radio and in media, and you talk about stars and talk about the people

that are most familiar to the audience.

And that's a big part of what we do.

And because of it, Brock, when things go right or wrong, we tend to focus on the same couple of people.

The stars on the team, the coach slash manager, the general manager, ownership,

those become the biggest conversations and the most common,

because everybody knows who those people are, and they are the faces of whatever organization we're discussing.

But it dawns on me that yesterday, as we watch the Seahawks complete a game that was as complete as you're going to see,

as we watch the Mariners complete a sweep that was as complete as you're going to see as we watch the Mariners complete a sweep that was as complete as it's going to be.

That a large part of what was done yesterday was due to a group of people.

Not only do we not talk much about them, but I think for about the last 20 or so years, they have been much maligned or at the very least lost their importance in the public eye,

and that is scouts.
