Just got done with a thoroughly enlightening conversation from Jeff Passon.

A lot to unpack there, Brock.

And before we get into that, some not news itself, but what we thought might happen has started to happen while that conversation was happening with Jeff Passon.

Adam Judeo the Seattle Times reported that sources tell him the Mariners and Diamondbacks have engaged in preliminary discussions

about Ahuyahuanio Suarez.

I think we all assume that, but there it's out there, it's happening.

The Mariners are actually talking to the Diamondbacks

about what it would take to bring Gino Suarez back here.

So getting on the heels of that and then what you heard from Jeff Passon, what stands out about what's been happening now with these mariner's.

Yeah, I think if I were a beat reporter or a journalist of that nature, I would also, oh, got me you got me could you hear me hello i'm

here oh okay i just want to make sure okay um oh i'm listening i'm giving you my complete and undivided

attention oh thank you okay i couldn't tell you were uh your arms were flailing at me i was just

wondering um if i were a beat reporter left scatching my neck i would tweet the same thing I would tweet the same thing. I would tweet the same thing. Sources tell me that the phones are heating up and there is a lot of active conversation. That is what I've heard. And I think at the very end there, you heard Pass and say the same thing. As he's talking to teams about the Mariners, I'm sure maybe even talking to the Mariners. He has heard the same thing.

These phone lines are heating up. It is a seller's market. Some valuable houses and commodities are going to be on the market. There's not going to be 100 of them. There's not even going to be 50 of them. There could be, you know, seven to 10 that the Mariners are really targeting, and these phone lines are heating up. and they're heating up rightfully because what he said they're right at the start of it.

Why is this the most important time for Justin and Jerry in their entire tenure is Seattle Mariners leadership and management because they can win a World Series? That's not me saying it. That was passing just saying it to you and me in our audience. Yeah. Here's the way. How does it sound just a few minutes ago? Reason number one, because it is a wide open landscape in Major League Baseball. There is no dominant team. And if you can put

yourself in the position where you get one of those golden tickets to get into

October and you have the starting pitching and you have the bats, then you can win a

world series. I firmly believe the Seattle Mariners can win a world series this year.
