To me, it makes zero sense to do this.

It sounds more like a beer league thing.

But for those joining them, the basic concept is that a team could choose one at bat in every game to use its best hitter, regardless of way where they were in the lineup.

Meaning, if you made the last out and all of a sudden now a man comes on the base with a lead off triple,

you could bring that hitter who made that last out in the inning back to try to drive the end of that run.

It's supposedly to get the stars, to be stars, to showcase them more.

That's what the baseball all-Star game is for.

And it's only one, each team would only be allowed to do it one at bat per game.

So you're not going to see this proliferation of, you know, an assembly line of all

stars.

If you have a team like the Dodgers come one after another, out of their batting order at the beginning.

I got a text from a friend of mine who says, you're spot on, but you're just touching it,

not hitting it.

It's going to help the small market teams who don't have six great hitters.

They need to equalize or at least try to a little bit the advantage that the Dodgers

have with a $5 billion payroll.

We want to see the stars play.

This is for small market teams.

The Dodgers, the Yankees, they don't need this.

It's like, okay, that's why we have this all-star lineup.

It's why we went out and went into free agency.
