As we come up against the final weekend of the Major League Baseball's first half before the All-Star break, we have argued about a lot of things.

I'm here to give you what I believe, some of which I might be guilty of, the five

lamest things to care about in baseball in this town. Okay. All right. Here we go.

Number five. Arguing in favor of analytics and pitch counts.

I don't know why, Tiki, this really popped up with the Clark Schmidt stuff.

Anytime somebody argues, like, in favor of the new school approach, just watch the games.

Right, and it's now come back for the David Peterson part.

Now, that's not the reason that he was pulled by, and that last start yesterday in the early game,

but it is something that people think about.

That's what was weird about Mendee's excuse, because...

But he mentioned the inning.

That's what's so backwards about it.

It was almost like he was saying,

well, I don't want to go through the fourth time through the line. I was like, okay, but he's basically dominating them the first three times through, so why are you worried about it?

Especially the back end of the lineup.

And a good thing for Mendi to keep in mind with that, and I was mad at myself not thinking of this today because it still bothered me.
